Once you start playing from the cutscene, it's all go and non stop action with amazing shooting mechanics, cover system and of course, bullet time. Rockstar did a fantastic job at this. The story is very good too, in my opinion. Yep, we all know it's a different setting from the first two games, but it has to be. Max is attempting a new start to try and escape his past for once. It's a dark, gritty story that is told really well and Max just can't stay away from massive amounts of trouble. Just because it's set in sunny Brazil doesn't mean it ain't a dark story.A little negative would be if you want to explore an area a little bit to find clues and golden gun parts is that you may run into the way you are meant to go and it will trigger a cutscene and you generally can't go back, therefore you miss exploring that certain section until you play it again or if you restart the level. Very minor negative.If you've played 1 & 2, do not miss out on this. A great way to finish an amazing series! 100% worth it and I recommend. Quickly Max Payne 3 shows you that it has more to offer than just combat and gore however as the dialogue, presentation, and general mood of the game have an exceptionally entertaining detective-noire feel to them. The story begins incidental but starts to unwind before you in a way that has definitely been done before but remained entertaining if not somewhat surprising throughout.
